The Snowman by Raymond Briggs

The timeless Christmas classic from Raymond Briggs about a little boy who builds a snowman and takes him on an adventure one night.

All I want for Christmas... Mariah Carey

There are some mistakes with the words in bold. Can you read the lyrics and decide what the word should be. Listen to the song and watch the video link to check your answers.

I don't want a lot for Christmas
There's just one thing I read
I don't care about presents
Underneath the Christmas free
I just want you for my own
More than you could ever snow
Make my wish come two...
All I want for Christmas
Is true...
I don't want a lot for Christmas
There is just one thing I feel
I don't care about presents
Underneath the Christmas free
I don't need to hang my talking
There upon the fireplace
Santa Claus won't make me happy
With a toy on Christmas rain
I just want you for my own
More than you could ever snow
Make my wish come two
All I want for Christmas is true...
You baby
I won't ask for hug this Christmas
I won't even wish for know
I'm just gonna keep on waiting
Underneath the mistletoe
I won't make a list and spend it
To the North Pole for Saint Bill
I won't ever stay awake to
Bear those magic reindeer click'
Cause I just want you there tonight
Holding on to me so fly
What more can I do
Baby all I want for Christmas is true
You...
All the lights are singing
So brightly everyyear
And the cloud of children's
Laughter fills the hair
And everyone is shining
I head those sleigh bells ringing
Santa won't you drink me the one I really cheep
Won't you please bring my baby come...
Oh I don't want a got for Christmas
This is all I'm fasting for
I just want to free baby
Standing bright outside my wall
Oh I just want Jim for my own
More than you could never want
Make my wish come you
Baby all I know for Christmas is You...
All I want for Christmas is you baby...[Repeat]

Take my hand ...
We can run so far
We can change the ... to anything we want
We can talk for ... just staring at the ...
They shine down to show us

That...

[Chorus:]

You know when the sun forgets to ...
I'll be there to hold you through the ...
And we'll be running so fast we can fly ...
And even when we're ... and miles apart
You're still holding all of my ...
I promise it will never be dark
I know..we're ...

We could run ... if you wanted to
And I would not get ...
Because I'd be with you
I keep singing this ... until the very end
We have done all these ...

[Chorus]

I would give it ...
Never let you ...
Cause you know we're ...
I would give it all
Just to show you I'm in love
Cause you know we're inseparable

Science-Organic Vegetable Garden in Peñalabra

After having studied plant reproduction in 2ºESO, pupils started chatting about the possibility of testing out some of the reproduction techniques; planting bulbs, making cuttings and the conversation and the ideas started blossoming until we reached the conclusion that we would like to develop an organic vegetable garden in the school, which would serve as an educational tool for the whole school and would also give us a small harvest every year. The idea was immediately accepted by the school's board of directors and so here begins the first chapter in our OVGP (organic vegetable garden project).

Before we even start pulling out weeds or digging, we need to do a bit of planning...so take a look at some of the following links:

Have you got what it takes to become an award winning photographer? The Wildlife Photographer of the Year judges will be looking for originality and ideas that are creative, fresh and surprising. This competition is organised by the Natural History Museum and the BBC Wildlife Magazine. Last years winners were the following:

The Storybook Wolf by José Luis Rodríguez (Spain). José visualised this image many years ago when Iberian wolves first returned to Ávila in Castilla Leon and cattle ranchers declared war on them. His idea was apicture that would symbolisethe ancient conflictbetween humans and wolves, while showing the beauty and strength of this fabled animal.

The overall winner of the Young Photographer of the Year was:

The Clash of the Yellowhammers by Fergus Gill (United Kingdom)
Fergus started the planning of this picture in summer when he collected winter food for the yellowhammers. One evening in February hearing that snow was forecast for the next day, Fergus set up his hideout in the garden. After a few hours the garden was full of birds and at one point there were 32 yellohammers feeding on the ground. He waited patiently to get the shot that was the overall winner of the competition.

An English Class in Pre-school

Some pupils from 4th ESO visited a pre-school English class of children between the ages of 4 and 5. There was a really cheerful atmosphere and the whole class was given in English. 'We were amazed that the children understood everything!' remarked Laura.

The session started with basic intelligence flashcards related to shapes, colours, numbers and parts of a house. After that, one of the 4th ESO pupils read a story called 'The Broom, Broomstick' this was followed by some song and dance games. All in all it was a really enjoyable afternoon. If you'd like to see some photos, take a look at the photo gallery.

The Art Gallery - The British Channel Seen from the Dorsetshire Cliffs ( 1871 )

John Brett: This view is probably from the cliffs above Lulworth Cove in Dorset, although there are no identifiable features. It's based on detailed notes on colour and meteorology that John Brett made as he sailed round the south-west coast in the summer of 1870.The focus of the painting is the effect of sunlight on the sea, which Brett had studied closely.
